Nowadays, masks have become indispensable for travel, yet disinfection and sterilization remain the bottleneck in mask production. In Changxindian Town, Fengtai District, Beijing, lies Beijing’s only manufacturer of specialized disinfection equipment for medical supplies such as masks and protective suits—the Beijing Fengtai Yongding Disinfection Equipment Factory. The sudden outbreak of the pandemic forced the factory to abandon its routine operations. Faced with a flood of urgent coordination requests, it promptly mobilized staff, worked overtime, and introduced new technologies, reducing the ethylene oxide sterilization and degassing time from 14 days to just one day. Since the Spring Festival, the factory has produced 600 cubic meters of ethylene oxide sterilization cabinets, dispatching them to protective‑equipment manufacturers across the country to support epidemic prevention efforts.
